JOURNEY PLAN

A journey plan is an organized route schedule that helps ensure consistent market coverage, optimized movement, and efficiency in serving outlets. It maps out trading centers, distances, and specific actions to be carried out at each outlet on a daily basis.

Key Components of a Journey Plan

  1. Day/Date/Time of Action
    • Indicate the day of the week (e.g., Monday to Saturday) and the approximate time of departure and return.
    • This provides clarity on when each route will be covered.
  2. Route Name
    • Assign each day a designated route (Route One, Route Two, etc.).
    • Each route should correspond to a cluster of trading centers to be covered on that day.
  3. Kilometers per Trading Center
    • Record the distance (in km) from the point of sale (main base/warehouse) to the first trading center.
    • Then indicate the distance between each subsequent trading center along the route.
    • At the end, summarize the total distance of that day’s route for planning fuel and time.
  4. Trading Centers & Outlets
    • List each trading center (Centre One, Centre Two, etc.).
    • Capture the number of outlets within each center.
    • This ensures you know how many clients or shops you will interact with in that area.
  5. Actions per Outlet
    • Clearly state your activities in each outlet, such as:
      • Taking orders
      • Delivering products
      • Merchandising/display checks
      • Pricing and visibility monitoring
      • Stock counting/replenishment
      • Customer relationship building (introducing promotions, collecting feedback, etc.)
  6. Summary per Day/Route
    • Include:
      • Total kilometers covered
      • Total number of outlets visited
      • Key highlights (e.g., promotions, challenges, or specific goals for that route).
